WWE TLC 2016: 5 things that should not happen at the PPV
The 8th annual edition of WWE’s self-proclaimed “demolition derby” will be upon us in just a week’s time, and there’s a lot that can happen on the final SmackDown Live pay-per-view event of 2016. Grudge matches are in place to settle scores, and some of them even include title matches.
One great thing about this year’s TLC event is that every match happening on the show (with the exception of the Tag Title match) has a history that warrants the high-stakes matches that come with an event like TLC.
Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles settle their heated rivalry in a match guaranteed for brutality, in the show’s namesake TLC match. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler will go one-on-one for the Intercontinental Title one last time, now in a ladder match, which means that Maryse can’t help her husband in the simple ways she usually can in order to cheat to win.
Carmella and Nikki Bella are finally going to end their feud with a No DQ match, something that was hinted at a couple months ago but never occurred, and Kalisto tries to exact some revenge on Baron Corbin for his brutal attacks, and they will duke it out in a Chairs match.
There are so many possibilities with so many great outcomes, but what are 5 things that should not happen on December 4th at TLC? Let’s take a look.
#5 The Undertaker Appears During The Main Event
With the rumors all pointing to a Styles vs. Undertaker battle in January at the Royal Rumble, it could make a bit of sense to see The Undertaker somehow make his presence known at December’s TLC show, specifically during the World Title match.
Normally, when The Undertaker appears at the end of a pay-per-view event he does so after the match is over, so one would expect that he would at least wait until AJ Styles retains the title over Dean Ambrose, but even that is too much.
AJ Styles has been getting the short end of the stick for a while during this championship reign. He has held onto and successfully been retaining the title, but he never really gets to look like the dominant, physical, athletic champion that he truly is. With his first reign as WWE World Champion likely coming to a close when The Undertaker comes calling, Styles deserves one night to truly soak it all in, and TLC is that night.
The Undertaker, ideally, can interrupt AJ’s celebration speech the following Tuesday on SmackDown Live. For Sunday night, December 4th, though, AJ should be able to get that decisive victory over Dean Ambrose and celebrate like a star to end the show without any dark magic shenanigans.
