WWE: Top 5 wrestlers awaiting a major push
Professional wrestling, much like any other sport, is cut throat. There are performers willing to step over their peers to get the main spot, and become the number one face of the company. Even in the past, we’ve heard about people backstabbing their friends to get to the top, and it happens all the time.
Like any other sport, there are a handful of performers who are seen as the future of the company, as those who will take the baton from their contemporaries and run with it. In professional wrestling, these guys are the “chosen ones”, those who deserve to be at the top, and with age being on their side, will eventually find their way to the top of the food chain.
In the current scenario in the WWE, there are very few superstars who’re seen as “deserving”, and are backed by the legends to become future WWE and World champions. With these guys being some of the best workers in the business, they’ve already established themselves as work horses in the organization, and are waiting in the wings for the right opportunity, to take the ball and run with it.
In this article, I take a look at five such superstars who’re just a step away from becoming main eventers in the WWE, and who deserve to be at the helm in the biggest entertainment organization in the world.
5. Cody Rhodes
Cody is probably the guy to have brought some credibility back to the Intercontinental championship when he held the title, and after he dropped the belt, it was expected that WWE would push him into the main event scene. As things would have it, Cody was relegated to the mid card, and was left in the middle of nowhere. He is currently involved in a fascinating feud with Damien Sandow, and has proved once again that he deserves to become the World champion.
Cody Rhodes is the son of ‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes, and with that kind of legacy and lineage, one would expect Cody to be a main eventer already. Cody has all the tools to be the World champion, and it is only a matter of time before he gets his due push in the WWE.
