5 Top moves of Batista

Let’s take a look at the five top moves of Batista. WWE has produced some greats from scratch with some of the key names, presently, being Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton. But another wrestler who made it to the top through some cunning plots and some amazing performances was, The Animal, Batista. Being a member of the highly artful Evolution team, having stalwarts like HHH, Ric Flair and Randy Orton, he climbed his way to success and never looked back. His storylines were always entertaining. And his sheer presence in the ring has been spellbinding. So, here are his moves.

Here we take a look at 5 of the best moves from The Animal.

5. Full Nelson Slam

A move with which Batista made himself famous in the preliminary stages of his career, the Full Nelson Slam has been instrumental in bringing down numerous greats. One of them is Booker-T, whom he brought down in Summer Slam ’09 when Booker-T missed a punch and, taking advantage of it, Batista delivered the Full Nelson Slam.

Here, he stands behind his opponent, hooks his shoulders around the opponent’s raised arms and then, tightening his grip at the back of the opponent’s head, he squeezes his arms. As he squeezes, the opponent jumps up, allowing him to make a slam on the mat.

4. Swinging Side Slam

This move is a variation to Batista’s power bomb.  A move which Batista rarely uses in the present scenario, the Swinging Side Slam was introduced by “Wildcat” Chris Harris in 2002. But Batista made it his own when he executed a swinging side slam on Edge in the heavily contested WWE World Heavyweight Championship battle in 2007.

Here, Batista takes hold of the wrestler’s leg at his trunk and has his other hand near the opponent’s neck area. After that, Batista bends his knees slightly to execute all the strength of his brutish arms to swing the opponent on one side to gain more momentum. After that, he again swings them back while releasing the opponent’s legs. At this point of time, all the power of Batista is on the opponent’s throat and that’s why when he bends down to power the opponent, the opponent can be driven on his back or even headfirst onto the mat. A truly devastating move.

3. DDT

This is a move which has been modified by many wrestlers over the years with good effect. While some execute it in the middle of the ring, some execute it when their opponen’s legs are on the ring ropes. But there are few who execute it with the venom and power with which Batista does it in the ring. A move still continued by the Animal, the DDT is one of those big-name moves that The Animal delivers before executing his finishing move.

Here, Batista executes a toe kick on the gut of the opponent to make them bend down and then hold them around their neck, while slamming them face-first onto the mat.

The unfathomable Batista

2. Spine Buster

A move which he has made famous through many of his vicious performances, the Spine Buster has been a move which has been a reliable weapon in Batista’s arsenal. Batista’s debut match against, The Viper, Randy Orton included this move which set the fans reeling for more from The Animal.

Here, he hooks his opponent’s right leg with his left arm, hoists him up, spins him and slams him on the mat on his back while The Animal lands on his knees and keeps the pressure on his opponent’s chest. It can prove to to be both a finishing move and a move to wear the opponent down.

1. Batista Bomb:

Being the finishing move of Batista, the Batista Bomb is just another name to the Power Bomb. His debut match also included the Batista Bomb which has a preview of Batista stomping near the ring ropes and then turning back to his opponent, giving a thumbs down signal. This move played a pivotal part in his debut match, too, signalling the potential arrival of yet another dominant wrestler.

Here, he starts the move by kicking his opponent to make him bent down. After that, he puts his opponent’s head between his legs, lifts him up over his shoulders and slams him down on the mat while he goes from a standing position to a sitting position.  An exquisite demonstration of his amazing strength.
