Tyler Breeze on RAW with Summer Rae

– Tyler Breeze has made an impact since jumping onto the main roster from NXT.

Breeze directly entered into a feud with Dolph Ziggler and has had a couple of good matches with him and was also a part of World Heavyweight Championship Tournament.

Tyler Breeze spoke with Mike Mooneyham of The Charleston Post & Courier about Billy Gunn helping him, jumping onto the main roster and his inspiration.

On Billy Gunn helping him

Billy Gunn was a vital part of the WWE as he was instrumental in training newcomers and grooming them for the big leagues before his untimely firing. He was also seen as a trainer on the reality show Tough Enough.

Breeze said that earlier he was more concentrated with wrestling and wrestling moves. He added that Billy Gunn helped him to build his character and his charisma. He also gave important tips and tricks to balance out his wrestling skills and his character.

“He showed me the character and showmanship part of it. He is so over the top and helped bring that out of me. I wasn’t very much like that before. I wanted to wrestle. I liked the wrestling moves and the athletic part of it. But I didn’t really know the showmanship part of it, and he helped bring that out of me, ” Breeze said.

On making it to the main roster

Tyler Breeze said that NXT and the Main Roster are two very different things.

He shared that he is humbled by the opportunity that he has got to come to the main roster and work with big stars such as Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose. He also added that working at full house shows such as Survivor Series was a real pleasure.

“It’s been a big change for me. As much fun as NXT was, it totally took a different turn up here. Working in front of sold-out houses and at events like Survivors Series, and working with someone like Dolph Ziggler, makes it a real pleasure to come to work, ” The Gorgeous one said,

On his character influenced by Gorgeous George

Gorgeous George, the WWE Hall of Famer of the class of 2010 was an acclaimed wrestler and whose character reeked of vanity. Tyler Breeze said that his character is influenced by the Gorgeous George character and is somewhat a modernized version of it.

By pointing out to the similarities, Breeze said, “In the same vain, just modernized. He was a big influence as far as presentation and mannerisms. I watched a lot of his stuff when I tried to put this character together.”
