CM Punk lost his first UFC match via rear naked choke 2:14 into the first round

TMZ Sports announced on Monday afternoon that former WWE Champion CM Punk will return to The Octagon for his second career fight in the UFC. The fight will take place in CM Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois at UFC 225 on June 9th.

Oddly enough, Punk was responding to a troll on Twitter when the news broke. Punk was asked when we were going to see him cry in The Octagon again. He responded with, "June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team."

At the time of this writing, it is unknown who Punk's opponent for UFC 225 is going to be.

Punk's first professional fight happened on September 10, 2016, when he lost to Mickey Gall only 2 minutes and 14 seconds into the first round when he tapped out to a rear naked choke at UFC 203.

Take a look at Punk's interview after the fight:

As many wrestling fans know, CM Punk was a pro wrestler prior to jumping into the Octagon. He made his pro wrestling debut in 1999 and would wrestle for such promotions as Ring Of Honor and TNA (Impact Wrestling).

While he didn't win a title in TNA, he won the ROH World Tag Team Championships twice with Colt Cabana, and on June 18, 2005, Punk defeated Austin Aries to win the ROH World Heavyweight Championship at Death Before Dishonor III. He would hold the championship for 55 days before losing it to James Gibson (aka Jamie Noble).

Punk debuted with the WWE in 2006 on the rebooted ECW brand and, eventually became the champion there. After the ECW experiment ended, Punk's career took off as he would win a total of five world championships, including a 434-day reign with the WWE Championship in 2011.
