WWE/UFC News: Dana White reveals why he's attending WrestleMania 34
What’s the story?
During the UFC 223 post-fight press conference, Dana White revealed that he’s indeed attending WWE WrestleMania 34—something that was reiterated by Ariel Helwani.
Additionally, White expounded upon the primary reason behind him attending the WWE’s biggest annual event. Besides, the UFC President also spoke about Brock Lesnar.
In case you didn’t know…
For long, UFC head honcho Dana White has been considerably vocal about the UFC—the world’s premier MMA organization—being a competitor to the WWE in the world of sports-entertainment.
However, in recent times, the UFC and WWE have experienced a noticeable growth in cross-promotion & mutual acknowledgment, owing to several modern-day crossover stars such as Brock Lesnar & Ronda Rousey succeeding in both the pro-wrestling and MMA realms.
The heart of the matter
Following a chaotic week that saw criminal activities transpire; endangering the safety of several UFC fighters, Dana White asserted that he’s happy to have successfully completed organizing the UFC 223 PPV card which took place last night.
As noted by veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, White is set to attend WrestleMania 34 tonight.
Apparently, the main reason behind White attending the WWE event, is to cheer his close friend Ronda Rousey as she competes in her debut WWE match tonight.
Furthermore, White explained that he had no idea Brock Lesnar was performing at WrestleMania 34; besides also stating that Lesnar had indeed told him that he intends to come back to the UFC—
What’s next?
The vast majority of pro-wrestling & MMA experts believe that Brock Lesnar is set to return to the UFC after dropping the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns tonight at WrestleMania 34.
Meanwhile, UFC boss Dana White will be at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana tonight, to cheer on his friend—as Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle compete against Stephanie McMahon & Triple H in a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 34.
Author’s take
Honestly speaking, it’s great to see that Dana White has grown to become more appreciative of the professional wrestling industry and the WWE.
It’ll most definitely be interesting to see whether Brock Lesnar really does choose to return to the UFC, rather than working a part-time schedule in WWE.
