WWE/UFC News: The Rock praises Conor McGregor on social media, McGregor responds
What’s the story?
WWE veteran and Hollywood icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently took it to his official Instagram profile, to praise Mixed Martial Arts Superstar Conor McGregor, via a very recent post.
In case you didn’t know…
Conor McGregor is a former UFC Featherweight Champion and the first ever man to hold two division titles in the UFC. ‘The Notorious One’ dethroned Eddie Alvarez to capture the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 205 in New York City.
McGregor, however, is yet to compete in the Octagon ever since picking up his historic win over Alvarez almost two years ago and subsequently, the Irishman has also been stripped of his two Championship belts in the process due to inactivity.
However, despite being inactive inside the MMA Cage, McGregor has certainly been busy making headlines outside of it. As noted, the 29-year-old Superstar also made his Boxing debut last year, when he squared-off against Floyd Mayweather in one of the most historic Pro Boxing matches of all time.
Whereas, on the other hand, Conor McGregor’s ‘Notorious’ documentary was also released in 2017.
The heart of the matter
Over the course of these past few months, UFC Superstar Conor McGregor has been in the news for all the wrong reasons and controversies.
However, amidst all the negativity, the Irishman has now certainly won over the heart of Hollywood’s very own and former WWE World Champion The Rock. He recently took time out of his busy schedule to watch Conor McGregor’s Notorious documentary Saturday night and eventually praised the Irishman for his massive accomplishment.
As noted, The Rock posted a photo of him enjoying the Conor McGregor: Notorious documentary and praised ‘The Notorious One’ by noting that McGregor is indeed one of the hardest working athletes of this generation.

In response, Conor McGregor also thanked ‘The Great One’ and stated that The Rock’s work ethic has always been very motivational and is inspiring to The Irishman.
What’s next?
Despite being inactive inside the Octagon, McGregor is currently slated to compete in two UFC fights later this year. Only time will tell if The Notorious One will ever step back into the MMA Octagon ever again.
