Update on Sting's injury, official statement issued

The buckle bomb proved too costly

Night Of Champions overall was a good PPV, but its aftermath proved to be very bad for Sting as he suffered a neck injury midway through the match. The match was supposed to go on a little longer, but a call was taken to prematurely end it with a small package win for Rollins.

From the reports, it is said to be a serious injury with career ending implications. Sting is at home recuperating and resting after the PPV and the injury is said to be so serious that the doctors are not able to give a long-term prognosis just yet.

Sting was set to appear on RAW as scheduled but the plan was dropped and he was told to rest at home which makes it obvious that he won’t be on live TV for some time. The injury was caused by the Buckle Bomb and his manager posted a statement on Facebook addressing the issue. Below is the statement:

“As many of you may already know, Sting is undergoing treatment for the injuries he sustained in last night’s match with Seth Rollins. Doctors will continue to evaluate his condition, but he is a man of remarkable health and resiliency, especially at his age and with all he’s endured throughout his stellar career. Therefore, we are optimistic he will have a speedy recovery and return to full health soon. Sting has kept his body in excellent shape, due largely to the guidance he’s received from his personal trainer Jeff Cavaliere (ATHLEAN-X), and we trust this will prove beneficial to the recovery process. As a side note, we later learned the greatest damage to his body took place before the match was over, but being the true professional he is and among the hardest workers to ever step foot in the ring, he insisted to see the match through to the end.” -Steve Martinez

Sting is a true legend and him wanting to finish the match is a testament of the talent and resilience of the man. We hope Stinger recovers soon and will be able to make an appearance on live TV soon. Rollins now is in a bad spot after two incidents of him injuring the star he is working with, first being Cena’s nose and now Sting.
