Update on the potential ISIS attack at Survivor Series, Triple H' statement on the situation
It was noted earlier about Survivor Series being listed in the list put out by the hacker group Anonymous, that are the potential targets of the terrorist group The Islamic State (IS, ISIS).
FBI acknowledged the threat by looking at it as a very serious one indeed and were investigating the authenticity of the unconfirmed reports. WWE also issued a statement stating that the pay-per-view would go ahead as planned, even though, they would assess the situation with all relevant authorities.
The Atlanta Police Department were also contemplating on rescheduling the event as reported earlier. This came as some very bad news for the WWE Universe, but Triple H’s latest statement would come as a huge relief to the fans at home and the fans who were going be in attendance in Atlanta.
He confirmed that there is no credible information on the attack and the show will go ahead as planned. This is his statement:
“Federal, state and local law enforcement authorities have confirmed there is no specific or credible information involving a threat against tomorrow’s WWE Survivor Series at Philips Arena.
However, WWE and Philips Arena have coordinated with the appropriate agencies and law enforcement, and significantly increased security measures to ensure the safety of all those in attendance, which is our highest priority.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. to help fans avoid any delays in entering the arena due to the additional precautionary security procedures put in place. Fans are encouraged to take public transportation (MARTA) to the event and are advised that bags will not be permitted in the arena.”
These reports were further validated by WSB TV reported Mark Winne of Atlanta who said that the possible list might have been issued just to inspire a 'lone wolf' attacker and that there is no credible information of the attack.
