WWE News: Vince McMahon seeking help from WWE Hall of Famer
WWE Hall of Famer and the first ever WWE Intercontinental champion, Pat Patterson, may have retired in 1984 but he has come back in various capacities since. then. He has had various on-screen roles, such as being the referee for the main event of the first ever Wrestlemania (Where Muhammad Ali was the special enforcer), one of the stooges of Vince McMahon during the Attitude Era, being part of the McMahon-Helmsley faction, or even being the oldest ever Hardcore Champion.
Since then, he has been a producer and a creative consultant and thus an influential backstage personality. It is being said that Vince McMahon is seeking help from Pat Patterson more often now after the brand split in the creative department. It is said that Patterson always helps creatively from Royal Rumbles to Wrestlemania, i.e., “The Road to Wrestlemania”, but now, Vince McMahon wants him involved even now, at very least up until Wrestlemania 33.
This may be ideal as Stephanie McMahon has stated that the brand split will bring back long-term storytelling. If this is truly the case, then creative experience from a 58 year veteran such as Patterson would undoubtedly help the creative and storytelling process that occurs in the WWE.
