Reason behind Vince McMahon's heat towards NXT, Top NXT stars unhappy

Vince McMahon and Triple H on stage during a WWE taping

In a recent interview, WWE’s Executive Vice President for Talents, Events and Creative – Triple H was praised by Vince McMahon for his work on the NXT brand, with the former stating that his father in law was a big fan of the developmental project.

However, the behind the scenes picture tells a different story, with Vince reportedly displeased with NXT’s extensive touring and a few talents who aren’t as good at pulling in the money as the main roster stars.

Elsewhere, former NXT star Tyler Breeze – who was recently called up to the main roster – is attracting some negative talk regarding his promotion to the big leagues. Breeze’s negligible promotion in the main roster has reportedly left quite a few NXT talents displeased as they fear getting similar treatment if and when their big promotion comes along.

The unhappiness of the NXT talents has led to questions being asked if the brand’s stars really want to receive promotions. The main roster is unquestionably more profitable for wrestlers than NXT, but does not promise the same fun as the latter, with the work on the main roster being very tedious.

The heat on Breeze initially stemmed up from the way his call-up was promoted on the Breaking Ground WWE Network show, but by the time the taping was aired, Breeze’s big move fizzled out and he was at the very bottom of the card by the time his RAW and SmackDown segments were filmed.

Even though Breeze hasn’t won any major trophy on NXT – whom he’s been with since its inception back in 2012 – his work with the brand was promising enough, which led him to being named #61 on PWI’s list of top 500 single wrestlers in 2015.
