WWE WrestleMania 35: 5 match rumours that you need to know

The
The Rock and Ronda Rousey could be in high-profile matches

WWE WrestleMania 35 will take place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on 7 April 2019.

In previous years, die-hard followers of the WWE product have had a good idea about which matches will take place at the annual extravaganza several months in advance – for example, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 was rumored a year before it even happened – and the early build-up to WrestleMania 35 has been no different.

The big rumor about the show in recent weeks has surrounded The Rock, who WWE is reportedly trying to book in a match in the same arena where he faced John Cena at WrestleMania 29, while there has been speculation that the event will be headlined by women for the first time in history.

Recent WrestleManias have been dominated by match-ups between one part-time legendary Superstar and one full-time current Superstar, so will WWE go down that route again in 2019 or will they adopt a different approach?

Right now, while no matches appear to be set in stone, the rumour mill suggests that several full-time members of the roster will be given a chance to shine on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” next year.

In this article, let’s take a look at five WrestleMania 35 match rumors that you need to know about.

#5 Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair defeated Asuka at WrestleMania 34

Ever since Ronda Rousey stepped foot in a WWE ring, fans have been wondering when the former UFC megastar will go one-on-one with Charlotte Flair.

Immediately after WrestleMania 34, it was speculated that WWE could build towards a Triple Threat match between Ronda, Charlotte and Asuka at WrestleMania 35, but it looks more likely at this stage that it will be Ronda vs. Charlotte in a singles match.

Both women stood out at WrestleMania 34, with Charlotte ending Asuka’s undefeated streak and Ronda getting physical with Triple H on her WWE debut, and it’s quite clear from the way that the two champions have been booked in recent months that WWE views them as the top women in the company.
