WWE-WWN done deal?, Huge WWE NXT match set for next week, more
Since the weekend, the wrestling rumour mill has gone into overdrive with private chatter about Triple H at first considering the idea of WWE teaming up in some fashion with WWN, the parent company of the independent wrestling promotions EVOLVE, Full Impact Pro and Shine, and then quickly embarking on negotiations with the group for such a deal. It was such an open secret that many on Twitter had been eagerly anticipating that the story would publicly break earlier today, which it did when Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote on his message board that no deal had been signed as of this morning. He described it as a “REAL big deal to WWE right now for reasons that may sound petty, but are really not.”
Meanwhile WWE stock was up 1.65% today, closing at $15.97 per share. Today’s high was $16.21 and the low was $15.74.
Samoa Joe did not disappoint when he made his highly anticipated in-ring debut, steamrolling over Scott Dawson. The submission specialist impressed WWE NXT GM William Regal, who granted Joe a huge non-title match for next week. Here is the video;
