WWE Rumours: Is Albert Del Rio possibly leaving WWE in October 2016?
Has the relationship between Alberto Del Rio and WWE become so fractured that the Mexican superstar might leave in October? There have been stories the past few weeks about Del Rio’s disapproval of how the company has booked him since he has come back since last year. Now, with rumors that his relationship with Paige does not sit well with management, will the former world champion exit before the end of the year?
According to inquisitr.com, there appears to be a meeting of the minds, rather a disagreement between Vince McMahon and Triple H over how to effectively book Del Rio, who has been toiling in the mid card since beating John Cena for the United States Championship last year at Hell in a Cell and subsequently losing the belt to Kalisto.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon reportedly did want to push Alberto a few times, but Triple H rejected the idea of it, and Vince went along with what The Game had to say. The rumor is that Triple H does not like Del Rio, and feels he is tough to do business with. Now with a new update on Del Rio, according to Daily Wrestling News, it appears that Alberto will leave the company when his contract comes up.
It is Triple H’s desire to push other performers on the WWE roster, especially new talent.
It has also been rumored that the COO of WWE is not a fan of the man who made his return last October.
The ramifications of a Del Rio departure could harm WWE more than just his leaving. Since he and Paige are an item, a fact that did not thrill management by the two going public with the news, could the women’s superstar leave as well when her contract expires? It would seem WWE has a lot more to lose should she depart from the Women’s Division. Paige, who is a former world champion in her own right, is a fan favorite and has also been outspoken on issues concerning booking and programs involving the women on the roster.
Just as a note of interest, Paige has remained on Raw while Del Rio was jettisoned to Smackdown Live. Was this a decision that was made based on their relationship or was this move considered what was best for business?
Because of the position WWE has taken giving Dolph Ziggler a title shot at SummerSlam and the fact there are others who have jumped ahead of him on the company ladder, does he even have a chance at title shot for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Also, with the news that the company will have more cross-brand feuds after SummerSlam, will there be an angle that eventually gets him back to Raw or an angle that sends Paige to Smackdown Live?
