4 opponents who can face Lexis King in his WWE in-ring debut at NXT Halloween Havoc

Tonight on NXT, fans will see the in-ring debut of Lexis King on WWE's third brand. The son of the late great Brian Pillman made a name for himself in AEW in recent years but recently left the young promotion.

Looking to not use his family's name, Lexis King will be aiming to establish his own legacy in WWE. He is set for his first match on NXT tonight at Halloween Havoc.

However, fans do not yet know who he will be facing. Join us as we take a look at four potential stars that may face Lexis King in his NXT debut.

During his time in All Elite Wrestling, Lexis King was primarily paired with Griff Garrison. The two young stars formed The Varsity Blondes, a modern-day version of his father's and Stone Cold Steve Austin's duo, The Hollywood Blonds.

Since the team split, Griff has not had the same level of success that he had with King during his early days in AEW. Speaking with the Captain's Corner, King praised Garrison for their time together as a tag team.

"It was just an honor to relive that (Hollywood Blonds) with Griff (Garrison), you know? The Varsity Blondes, and who knows where his path will go, where Griff will end up but I feel like, sort of a similar story, I think they broke us up too soon, I think we were on to something and I think we’re both gonna become stars down the road." With Garrison rarely featuring in AEW these days, do not be surprised if King's old teammate also signs with WWE. But this time, they share the ring as rivals.

While his father is unfortunately no longer with us, one person who is deeply associated with King is WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Austin returned to the ring last year to face one of the company's toughest stars, Kevin Owens. As a legend of NXT, Kevin Owens could be a perfect first opponent for King, with a top name like KO putting Lexis firmly on the map in WWE.

Continuing his conversation with Captain's Corner, King seemed to inadvertently take a shot at Owens when he referred to Kevin by his old ring name.

"I can’t just let what’s-his-name beat me on that. Kevin Steen (Owens), I can’t let Kevin Steen — sorry for not remembering his name (Pillman Jr. laughed). I’m actually a pretty big fan of his. So I can’t let him one-up me there. I gotta retire Steve Austin. If anybody’s gonna do it, it’s gonna be his best friend’s son, you know? His longtime friend’s son." (H/T Post Wrestling)

One top WWE NXT Superstar who is yet to have a match booked for Halloween Havoc tonight is Joe Gacy.

During his time in NXT, Gacy has been a part of many big moments, from facing Bron Breakker for the world title to establishing his own faction in the form of Schism.

The 36-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the brand's go-to performers. With King's opponent not yet confirmed, a top hand like Gacy may be the best the brand has to offer and will no doubt prove to be a tough first-time match for the second-generation star.

Ahead of Halloween Havoc, all of the brand's champions have matches set. However, one performer who is not set to wrestle on the show is the NXT North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio.

The son of the legendary luchador has won the brand's secondary title on two occasions now, having captured the gold by underhanded tactics both times.

Following a recent victory, Dominik Mysterio stated in an NXT Digital Exclusive that he is one of the greatest NXT North American Champions of all time.

"I am the greatest luchador that has ever lived,” Dominik Mysterio said. “I am the greatest NXT North American Champion ever, and I beat Dragon Lee tonight with my deadbeat dad by his side. So I’m the greatest NXT North American Champion ever." (H/T Yahoo)

Dominik seems to be determined to do anything but defend his belt in order to not displease his Mami and matriarch of The Judgment Day, Rhea Ripley.

In what would be a shocking moment, Lexis King could make a huge impact in his WWE debut if he defeats Dominik to win the coveted championship.
