WWE News: Xavier Woods gives further update regarding his tongue injury
What’s the story?
On this week’s edition of Smackdown Live, New Day member Xavier Woods suffered a nasty tongue injury during his one-on-one match against Cesaro.
Following the gruesome injury, Woods recently took it to his official Instagram handle and gave an update regarding the horrendous gash he suffered this past Tuesday evening.
In case you didn’t know…
As noted, on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, former Smackdown Live Tag Team Champion Woods faced-off against Cesaro in singles competition, after having picked up an impressive win over Sheamus on last week’s edition of SD Live.
However, despite an impressive win last week, things were certainly a lot different on this occasion, as Woods was seemingly struck with a brutal Uppercut from Cesaro during their one-on-one match.
As a result of the Uppercut, Woods was eventually left with a bleeding tongue, apparently with a hole in it as well.
The heart of the matter
Shortly after suffering the brutal tongue injury on Smackdown Live, Woods seemingly took it to his official Twitter handle in order to reveal that he had suffered a hole in his tongue during his recent singles match against ‘The Swiss Cyborg.
However, apparently there was a lot more to the story and Woods later took it to his official Instagram handle and revealed further details regarding his gruesome injury.
As aforementioned, Woods recently took it to his official IG handle and noted that as a result of a nasty Uppercut from Cesaro, not only did the New Day member suffer a hole in his tongue but in addition, he has also seemingly suffered two more partial holes in his tongue as well.

What’s next?
It now seems like Woods will indeed miss out on in-ring competition for a while, however, the 31-year-old is currently also being advertised to appear for next week's SmackDown Live at the O2 Arena in London.

Woods’ injury is certainly a very nasty one and we wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.
