Xavier Woods to quit WWE or a heartbreaking betrayal? 4 things that are possible for The New Day on WWE RAW this week
The New Day has been a staple in WWE for over a decade. Over the last few months on RAW, however, cracks have started to appear in the group's once-unbreakable foundation.
Karrion Kross was unsuccessful in physically breaking up Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, but the seed of dissent was planted. Kingston going to Odyssey Jones without Woods' knowledge was one crack.
The former WWE Champion also asked the LWO for backup against the Judgment Day on last week's RAW. Woods was again left in the dark regarding Kingston's decision.
Will things finally explode within the New Day this week? The next four situations are possible for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on RAW.
#4. The New Day battles the LWO
Since he expected interference from the Judgment Day in the New Day's match for the World Tag Team titles, Kofi Kingston asked the LWO to back him up. The Judgment Day always interferes, so Kingston had a plan for when things inevitably went haywire.
The main problem was that the former WWE Champion didn't tell his longtime ally about his plan. Woods, in turn, went to Jey Uso and Damian Priest to request that they not interfere. They obliged his request.
With the LWO loosely involved in a rift between Woods and Kingston, the two sides could have a match. Regardless of the outcome, Woods could refuse to shake their hands or attack them after a potential match.
#3. Xavier Woods turns heel on RAW
Would Xavier Woods turn heel? With the way things have been going between him and Kofi Kingston on RAW, the possibility is higher than ever. Karrion Kross tried to sow dissension between the two lifelong friends, but they were able to overcome his advances.
The time may come, however, that Woods has had enough, and he decides to turn on his friend on RAW. Never winning a singles title could ultimately cause the former King of the Ring to snap.
Kross repeatedly mentioned that he was the only member of the group not to have singles success. Even though it would be a bit predictable, a heel turn for Xavier Woods would nonetheless be shocking.
#2. Woods quits WWE after another loss
If Xavier Woods has had enough of everything on RAW, he could go to the extreme and decide to leave WWE. It could be used as a storyline angle, and he won’t really be leaving the company.
The idea that such a loyal competitor was pushed so far over his limit that he would quit would be a shocking possibility. Drew McIntyre did this during his fight with CM Punk but returned the next week.
If WWE went this route, it could also be a misdirect for a blindside assault on Kofi Kingston after the constant miscommunication over the last month.
#1. Big E returns to save the day
One huge possibility for RAW could be the return of fan-favorite Big E. The former WWE Champion has been out of action for two years after an unfortunate neck injury.
With the way things have been going between his two friends and teammates, he may be enlisted to be the peacemaker. Not only would it be a huge moment for WWE but also for Big E to get back into the ring.
While he may not compete, it would still be a good way to utilize the uber-charismatic star. If he was cleared to take a bump, Woods could even turn on both members to up the shock value of Big E's potential use in the angle.
