Bryan Danielson began his wrestling training at Texas Wrestling Academy under Shawn Michaels and Rudy Gonzalez. WWF signed him in 2000 for their cruiserweight division. He signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2001 after being released by WWF in 2001. He worked with the promotion till 2004. He signed with WWE again in 2002 for only a year. His tenure with Ring of Honor started in 2002 and continued for seven years. After he departed from ROH he worked for numerous free circuits like All-Star Wrestling, Frontier Wrestling Alliance, World Association of Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, National Wrestling Alliance, TNA, and EVOLVE till 2010.
Danielson made his second return to WWE in 2010. The same year he won his first title with WWE in Night of Champions and was crowned the new US Champion. Danielson came out on top for the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2011. He used that to clinch his first-ever World Title at the TLC event in the same year. He likewise bagged the WWE Title four times in his career. He won his Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 31. Danielson's contract with WWE expired in 2022 and he signed for AEW in the same year.
