Andre Iguodala is an American professional basketball player who plays as a Small Forward for the Golden state warriors in the NBA. He is currently playing his 18th season and has been an NBA All-Star in 2012 and a two-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team. With the Warriors, he has four NBA titles, and in 2015, he was voted the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP). He was chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 9th overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft. The Swingman was chosen to serve as the National Basketball Players Association's first vice president in February 2019. (NBPA).
Early life
Iguodala graduated from Springfield, Illinois' Lanphier High School. He excelled both academically and athletically at Lanphier, earning Academic All-Conference accolades and multiple State Journal Student-Athlete of the Week nominations. He received several honors, including second-team Parade and Nike All-American, and Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year. He caught the eye of coaches around the country in the summer of 2000 when, after making the game-winning shot, he was voted the AAU national tournament's Most Valuable Player.
NBA Journey
The Philadelphia 76ers selected Andre Iguodala as the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. Iguodala received MVP honors at the Rookie Challenge on February 17, 2006, for his record-breaking 30-point performance in the Sophomores' victory. Iguodala was selected to the All-NBA Defensive Second Team for the 2010–2011 season. In a victory over the Pistons on his 28th birthday, Iguodala turned in a triple-double performance of 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. He sank two free throws with 2.2 seconds left in Game 6 of the Philadelphia 76ers' first-round playoff series against the Chicago Bulls to win the game and give the Sixers their first playoff series victory since 2003.
Andre was traded to the Denver Nuggets in 2012. Even though Andre had a strong series, the Nuggets lost to the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs, where he had helped the team advance. In the Playoff series, Iguodala averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 5.2 steals. Iguodala joined the Warriors in 2013 and has been a member of the team ever since. Andre Iguodala won three NBA Championships with the Warriors and was voted the Finals MVP in 2015.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Andre Iguodala as the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. His Rookie season went very well after being criticized by many especially by the ESPN anchor Dick Vitale as he will not be able to play well and selecting him was not a good choice. Iguodala was the only 76er to play and start all 82 regular-season games plus five playoff games during his first season after being put into the starting lineup right away. He was the only rookie and 76er that season to score a triple-double thus, he proved his versatility. He averaged 9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.7 steals a game this season and therefore voted fourth in the NBA Rookie of the year and was named in the NBA Rookie first team.
