Grayson Allen: A Brief Biography
Grayson Allen is an American professional basketball player who was selected by the Utah Jazz as 21st pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. After a short season with the Jazz including a stint in the G-league he was traded and currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Allen played his high school basketball at Providence School in Jacksonville, Florida. He was selected as an All-American in 2014 and won the McDonald's All-American Dunk contest that year. He was also the key part of their state championship victory the year before.
Allen played college basketball for 4 years (2014-18) at Duke University. He flourished as a sophomore scoring an average of 21 points per game while shooting 41% from the 3 point range. He balled out at the highest level scoring 16 points in the NCAA championship game, helping his side lift the national title.
Following relatively mediocre junior and senior seasons he declared himself for the NBA Draft and was selected by the Utah Jazz. He could not get much playing time with the Jazz and had only played 38 games before he was moved to the Memphis Grizzlies. A young talent with a lot of athleticism Grayson Allen is still working to establish himself in the league.
