Isaac Okoro: A Brief Biography

Isaac Nnamdi Okoro is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. He played college basketball for the Auburn Tigers. Born to both Nigerian immigrant parents Issac was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Okoro played high school basketball for McEachern High School. He averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game in his freshman season leading his team regional title. In his senior season, Okoro averaged 19.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. His team ended the regular season with a 32–0 record, becoming the first undefeated team in the highest Georgia classification since 1995 and receiving a No. 1 national ranking from multiple websites. Isacc Okoro became the 2nd player in his high school to have his jersey retired.

Okoro was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school. He chose to join Auburn to play college basketball. He averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and two assists per game in his sole season at Auburn. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team, the SEC All-Freshman Team, and the SEC All-Defensive Team by the league's coaches. After the regular season ended he announced that he would enter the 2020 NBA draft. He was selected 5th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
