Zach Randolph

Zachary McKenley Randolph, nicknamed "Z-Bo", is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Randolph attended Marion High School in Marion, Indiana. In his sophomore year, he helped the Marion Giants to a Class 4A Championship Game in 1988. The next year, Randolph again led the team to the state championship, the seventh championship for Marion High School.

After graduating from Marion, Randolph attended and played basketball for Michigan State University. In his single season, he averaged 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds in 33 games, thus helping the team end the season with a 28–5 record and a trip to its third straight NCAA Final Four. Randolph was drafted as the 19th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Randolph was named Most Improved Player of the Year in 2004. In his final game of the 2006-07 season and his final game as a Blazer, Randolph scored a career-high 43 points including 17 rebounds. He averaged 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in six seasons playing for the Blazers. In 2007, he was traded to the New York Knicks. For the two years he played in New York, he averaged 18.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

In 2008, Randolph was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 20.9 points and 9.4 rebounds in 39 games for the Clippers before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008. Randolph scored a then playoff career-high 31 points in a decisive game 6 in the first round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs against the San Antonio Spurs. The Grizzlies would go onto win the game and the series thus becoming just the second team ever to defeat the first seed in a seven-game series. Randolph helped the Grizzlies win the opening game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in their second-round playoff series, scoring a playoff-career-high 34 points. The Grizzlies lost the series in 7 games.

In 2011, Randolph agreed to a 4-year, $71 million deal with the Grizzlies. In the 2012-13 season, he helped the Grizzlies reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in their franchise by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder. He scored a team-high 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the closeout game. In the 2014-15 season, Randolph signed a two-year, $20 million contract extension with the Grizzlies. In 2017, Randolph signed a two-year, $24 million contract with the Sacramento Kings.
