The 2020s have been a period of ups and downs for the Mumbai Indians (MI). The decade started on a glorious note, with the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise winning its fifth IPL title in the United Arab Emirates. Since then, it's been underwhelming results year after year. The five-time champions ended at the bottom of the table last season, quite comfortably their worst performance in their decorated history.
However, 2025 promises to be different, as the franchise has added prominent names, such as Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Ryan Rickelton, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Deepak Chahar, and Reece Topley, to its squad while retaining the core of Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya. The former champions will look to add another title to their already brimming cabinet when they take the field in season 18 of the Indian Premier League.
