Saurashtra defeated Bengal to lift their maiden Ranji Trophy title on Friday at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
It is Saurashtra’s first-ever win in the history of India’s premier domestic competition. The winning team had posted 425 in their first innings, with a century from Arpit Vasadava and half-centuries from Avi Barot, Vishvaraj Jadeja and Cheteshwar Pujara. They restricted Bengal on 381 and took a lead of 44 runs on the final day of the match.
