David Beckham on winning 1999 treble as 20th anniversary approaches
Manchester United won a treble of trophies (the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League) becoming the first English team to achieve it, and being the most successful season in the team history.
United won the Premier League with 79 points, one more point than Arsenal and four more than Chelsea, and then beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup final by 2-0.
In the Champions League final, they defeated Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich 2-1, with current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskaer scoring the winning goal in injury time.
"I never get nervous in games. I never get nervous before games, or on the lead up to games. But I must admit this was the one occasion where I had a few butterflies winning a game of that magnitude. That moment nothing could come close to that,'' said Becakham on the European final.
