Cody Rhodes vs AJ Styles for the Undisputed WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes defeated AJ Styles to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash France. Styles then requested a rematch from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis but was denied. The following week, Styles tricked Rhodes into believing he was retiring and then attacked him. An enraged Rhodes then accepted Styles's challenge for a rematch at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, but with the added stipulation that it would be an "I Quit" match. At the event, The American Nightmare managed to push The Phenomenal to his limits and make him yell "I Quit".

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defend the Tag Titles in Triple Threat Match

Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark earned a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship held by Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. However, their initial title match ended in a disqualification due to interference by another team, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. This led to a chaotic situation with a brawl erupting between the three teams. To settle the score, a triple threat tag team match for the Women's Tag Team Championship was announced for Clash at the Castle: Scotland, featuring Belair & Cargill, Baszler & Stark, and Fyre & Dawn. The team of Fyre and Dawn, known as The Unholy Union, surprised everyone by chalking the victory and becoming the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship

Things got heated between Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn and Chad Gable of Alpha Academy in mid-April. After failing to win the title from Zayn, Gable turned vicious and attacked him, becoming the villain in their rivalry. He even started disrespecting his own teammates, Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri. Their clash continued at King and Queen of the Ring, where Zayn managed to keep his title despite a triple threat match with Gable. Gable's frustration only grew when he accidentally got knocked out by his teammate Otis during the match.

The tension reached a boiling point on Raw when Gable threatened to punish Otis with a strap after a loss. Zayn intervened, questioning how long Alpha Academy would tolerate Gable's bullying. A brawl erupted, with Gable getting the upper hand. The following week, Zayn demanded a face-off with Gable, but instead received a letter challenging him to another title match at Clash at the Castle in Scotland. Zayn readily accepted, setting the stage for Clash at the Castle. At the event, Gable lost once again to Sami Zayn and could not complete his dream of getting his hands on the Intercontientnal Championship.

Bayley vs Piper Niven for the WWE Women's Championship

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven set their sights on the Women's Champion, Bayley, in May. They weren't thrilled with Bayley mentioning her excitement about facing another wrestler, Jade Cargill. Things escalated after Niven lost to Cargill on SmackDown. Green and Niven kept poking the champion, leading to a non-title match where Bayley emerged victorious. The turning point came when Green and Niven brutally attacked Bayley, followed by a shocking tag team win against the champion. With tensions soaring, Bayley was forced to accept a title defense against Niven in Niven's home country at Clash at the Castle: Scotland. The home advantage was not very instrumental in the match as it was the champion who eventually managed to win the match.

Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship Match

At WrestleMania XL Night Two, Drew McIntyre defeated the World Heavyweight Champion Seth 'Freakin' Rollins for the championship. However, just a few minutes later, Mr. Money in the Bank Damian Priest came marching to the ring and cashed in his briefcase to become the new champion. Jey Uso became the number one contender for the title in place of McIntyre in the coming weeks and the Scottish Psychopath was also pulled out of the King of the Ring tournament due to an injury, which could have granted him a title match at SummerSlam. Fueled by frustration, McIntyre challenged Priest to a title match, which the champion accepted. At Clash at the Castle: Scotland, The Scottish Psychopath covered the champion for a cover and the referee stopped at two count only to reveal himself to be CM Punk. Eventually, Priest won the match and retained the gold.
