Compared to the two billion pesos that Grupo Salinas, the event organiser, raised at the Chapultepec golf course in Mexico City, this represents a substantial increase.

In the 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta, Tony Finau emerged victorious in the second edition. After shooting a three-shot lead over second place, the American won the trophy with a card that read 24-under-par (65-64-65-66 = 260).
Mexico Open at Vidanta 2024 History
Played at the Club de Golf Chapultepec for the first time 79 years ago in 1944, the tournament was co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour from 2004 to 2006 and featured on the Tour de las Américas from 2003 to 2006. It was moved from December to January and became a Nationwide Tour event in 2008. As a result, there was no tournament in 2007.
The Mexican Open was moved from May to September due to swine flu in 2009. After being rescheduled for March in 2013, the tournament was recognized as an official PGA Tour Latinoamérica event. Additionally, the competition was shifted to Club de Golf Mexico.
With a $7,300,000 purse and 500 FedEx Cup points awarded to the winner, the tournament was officially added to the PGA Tour schedule in 2022.
