British professional golfer Thomas "Tommy" Paul Fleetwood, who competes on the PGA Tour and European Tour, was born on January 19, 1991, in Southport, Merseyside, England. He has seven European Tour victories, with the most recent at the 2024 Dubai Invitational, where he defeated Thiston Lawrence and Rory McIlroy by a single shot and a total score of 265, under 19.

Fleetwood debuted on the European Tour at the 2010 Czech Open. He made the cut and finished T67. He later participated in the 2013 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles and won his maiden European Tour title in a playoff.

Fleetwood won his second European Tour event in January 2017 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship by a single stroke over Dustin Johnson and Pablo Larazabal after a final round 67; he successfully defended the title in 2018 as well. At the 2019 Open Championship held at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland in July 2019, Fleetwood came in second.

In September 2021, Fleetwood represented Europe in the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. As the US triumphed 19-9, Fleetwood finished 0-1-2, including a tie in his Sunday singles match against Jordan Spieth. Fleetwood triumphed in the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club in South Africa twice, in November 2019 and 2022.

Tommy Fleetwood’s caddie

Tommy Fleetwood's caddie is Ian Finnis as of April 2024.

The majority of 2024 saw Ian Finnis battle a chest infection, which prevented him from playing with Fleetwood at the Masters Tournament. Fleetwood has therefore temporarily turned to Augusta Caddie Gray Moore, a seasoned caddie, for the Major.

Moore, known by his nickname "Mr. Augusta," started working at Augusta National in 1996. Tom Watson, who hired him in 2004, is just one of the many golfers he has experience with at the Augusta National. Furthermore, he also worked with Andra Lee at the 2019 Augusta National Women's Amateur, who then finished tied for 26th place.

Ian Finnis moved on to work at Formby Hall, which is close to Southport, as an assistant professional. He is the husband of former England women's goalie Rachel Brown.

Fleetwood was having trouble with inconsistent and erratic shots in 2016 and was not in good form. The Englishman made the decision to alter his team after missing five cuts in a span of seven weeks, and so he turned towards Alan Thompson, his amateur days' coach.

Finnis also received the call at this same time frame. During Fleetwood's amateur days, Finnis and Fleetwood had collaborated on the course, and having the familiarity, as they understood each other and had worked earlier, made it rather easy. However, Finnis initially joined temporarily, but has stayed for eight years now.

Following the 2016 Open Championship, where he missed the cut, Fleetwood's form picked up, and he concluded the second half of 2016 with four top-10 European Tour finishes.

The former amateur World No. 1 has since won six events on the European Tour and the 2017 Race to Dubai. Additionally, he narrowly missed winning the US Open in 2018 as well as the 2019 Open Championship, finishing runner-up at both.

Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding Ian Finnis’ net worth.

According to Golf Monthly, in the 2021/22 season, Fleetwood earned roughly $2.8 million. With caddies often receiving up to 10% of his boss's wins, Finnis would have almost $280,000 in earnings. However, during the first turnaround in form that followed Finnis' arrival, Fleetwood earned about $4 million two years in a row, therefore, Finnis would have earned roughly $400,000 in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

Although Ian Finnis’ current net worth is unknown, it is estimated that the caddies earn around $2000 per week and can earn even more depending on the player’s position in that tournament.
