Sophie Molineux (Melbourne Renegades Women captain) : It is just pure elation. It has not quite sunk in completely. It has been 10 long years with this franchise. Many highs and many lows but our fans is the most loyal lot. We did not panic after not getting off to the best start in the season, we believed in the quality that existed in our squad and even our coaches played a crucial role in ensuring there is cohesion in the group. It is a real honour for me to lead the side, the club means a lot to me, so many people have stepped up and done endless work to look after us as well as they have. The sustained success for Heat to get into one final after the other is quite envious and there is so much for all of us to learn. All our partners have been massive, we would not be where we are without their support. Everyone that work in the office day in and day out to ensure all of this unfolds in a seamless manner, we are appreciative for all those efforts. The Women's Big Bash keeps getting better year after year and it is heartening to see so many young boys and girls turn up to the stands and hopefully we are inspiring them to pick up a bat or a ball and follow their dreams. Last and not the least, the girls have been spectacular. Thanks to the fans and they richly deserve this.

The Melbourne Renegades players are now collecting their champion medals. Each player is making their way to the stage individually.

Jess Jonassen (Brisbane Heat Women captain): We found it hard today. But it was great to have such a wonderful crowd to support a wonderful game of cricket! Congratulations to Sophie Molineux and her team, they were superb right through this tournament and deserve this triumph. Our girls and the support staff did an incredible job! Many wrote us off but here we are in the final again! Let's just keep it going and get to the final yet again next season, to go one better!

Hayley Matthews (Player of the Match, 69 runs off 61 balls and 2/24 off 3 overs): Had to assess conditions up front. I wanted to bat deep, and I am glad I could do that. 140 was about par, and we get there. So many of these girls in this group have been around from WBBL season 1, they have given it their all and finally, after three years of not doing well, we are here! The group showed a lot of character and that reflected in our performances.

Courtney Webb, Melbourne Renegades Women : It is a whirlwind of emotions, it still does not feel real. The last couple of overs is when we started to think that is it really happening for us. Jonassen made us all feel nerves and it looked as if she would win it from her own bat but glad that we could finish at the right side of the result. This is a special occasion.

Georgia Wareham, Melbourne Renegades Women: There have been a lot of ups and downs for the Renegades, so, to win this is amazing! We kept the momentum going, kept ourselves fresh through the week and were focused for today.

Nicole Faltum, Melbourne Renegades Women: It's amazing! Incredible to win in front of the home crowd and family! It's a winning team and that is because of a happy, energetic dressing room! I'm so pleased for Sophie Molineux, she is an incredible human being and a tremendous player!

Melbourne had only won 2 games last season. And today, they are WBBL10 champions! From wooden spooners to tournament champions - the Renegades win the title for the first time in their history!

Grace Harris was dismissed for a duck in the last ball of the first over of the chase. That was a key blow for Heat. Illingworth is one of the fastest bowlers of this competition, and she averaged 120 KMPH in her opening over today as well. She has been slightly wayward to begin with. 3 wides in her opening act. But she emerged with another big wicket when Rodriguez was dismissed as the 2nd victim in as many overs of the chase.

The rain gods decided to make an appearance happened after 3.2 overs with the score on 19 for 2. After a 35 minutes hiatus, the target became 98 runs to win from 12 overs.

Redmayne got a top edge in the first ball that she faced after the rain break against Illingworth. Molineux dismissed Redmayne in the 2nd over after resumption of play which reduced Heat to 27 for 3. That put the last year's finalists under a pretty tense situation.

Jess Jonassen has been averaging 35 with a strike rate of 124.3 - she was tasked with an uphill battle with 68 runs needed from the last 7 overs! Wareham came to the bowling attack and was able to convince her captain to review a LBW decision. Even though it was an umpire's call, she went for only 2 runs in her opening over.

Hayley Matthews made it a memorable night for herself as she picked up a couple of wickets in her first over to send shivers down the spine of the Heat side. Both Harris sisters departed for ducks in the big night as the score read a dreadful 37 for 5.

Dottin was summoned for her bowling services when the single over Power Surge was taken. With 43 runs needed from 18 balls, Jess Jonassen started with a six and a four. The Heat skipper kept throwing one punch after the other and it came down to 20 needed from the last over with Jonassen on strike and Molineux deciding to take matters into her own hands.

She closed it out in fine fashion as Melbourne script their first ever WBBL victory. Presentations to follow!
