So that concludes our coverage of this T20I series. The honors go 2-1 in favor of Bangladesh but what will transpire in the Test? A fantastic knock from Paul Stirling and he walks away a happy man. That said, it's Bangladesh who have won the series and so, Shakib Al Hasan collects the series trophy before heading off to pose with his teammates. Bangladesh can be mighty proud of how they've approached this format. They've had long-standing struggles but this is the way they want to turn things around and they're going to be a very exciting team to watch if they maintain this. As for Ireland, they finally have a win to savor for this tour. Will this rub off on them as they head into the one-off Test in a few days' time? We will have our answer soon with Andrew Balbirnie returning to take over the reins as Paul Stirling rests from that contest.

Ireland captain Paul Stirling is the Player of the Match for his stunning knock of 77. Here's what he has to say: To be honest this was set up by the bowlers and my knock comes from how well they did in the first innings. I think this award is probably deserved by all the bowlers who bowled well. Full credit to them to comeback from what we've been through in the last two weeks. Congratulations to them. We only improve the more we play. Sometimes we were a bit slow off the blocks compared to Bangladesh. You saw from the first ball they were bang on the money, even in the one-day series. It's been a few years (since we last played a Test) - everyone's really excited. Good luck picking a side for that. Good luck for the Test lads, it's going to be a great experience in Dhaka in front of hopefully a full house. A victory can bring confidence in any format.

Taskin Ahmed (Player of the series) - I was believing myself and it doesn't matter whether the wicket is flat or not. I bowled according to my strengths and that's important to me. Last few years we were working hard and the team management is helping us and that gave us huge belief. We will become the best group of fast bowlers hopefully

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain) - I thought we didn't bat well and we kept losing wickets. Today was the day our approach didn't work. If you want to be a very good team that's how you want to play. Some games it comes off and at times it won't. We will be playing a Test match in a few days and traveling to Dhaka. We will see what we do there. After the England series, we turned up with same intensity and attitude. We played well in the first two games but credit to Ireland because they were better than us today

A walk in the park for Ireland and they've done it in a canter. From start to finish, they have dominated Bangladesh to avert a series sweep and salvage some pride for their first win of the tour. It was all set up by their bowlers of course, with Mark Adair showing the way with a three-fer, even as Shamim Hossain fought hard to take the hosts to some sort of a total.

It was never going to be enough though, notwithstanding the quality in the ranks of the Bangladeshi bowling attack. Paul Stirling was in no mood to muck around and he took off from the outset, with Ross Adair also approaching it in similar fashion. Adair and Lorcan Tucker perished to a couple of agricultural swings with a Taskin Ahmed yorker breaching the former's defense but as long as Stirling was out there, Ireland were always in front. He didn't back away from expressing himself and found the fence at will, sauntering along as though he was having a net session in the middle.

Shakib Al Hasan tried rotating his bowlers around in the quest for a wicket. With Harry Tector not doing anything silly at his end and allowing Stirling to do all the hitting, it was a real canter for the Irish with their skipper notching up his 22nd half-century in T20Is. He was in a hurry to wrap things up post the drinks interval and continued going hard at the bowling. He couldn't finish it off as he holed out to long on but the damage was done already, with Curtis Campher and Tector then adding the finishing touches to complete a historic win.

Bangladesh preached a positive approach and they stuck by it with the bat. They must not lose heart from this defeat and must back themselves to come good on a regular basis. After all, they will be holding the series trophy aloft in a little while from now as well. Stick around for the presentation...

Done. And. Dusted! Ireland have defeated Bangladesh in Bangladesh for the first time in T20Is. What a historic moment for them even if it means they don't take the series. A thoroughly professional performance and they have bossed this game through and through.
