BCP becomes the first team to secure their berth in the finals after eclipsing LIZ by 6 wickets in a low-scoring affair.
After a superior bowling display to restrict LIZ to a below-par score, BCP got off to a steady start to their chase. Openers Managala Gunasekara and Pawandeep looked well-settled in the middle as BCP dominated the run-chase for the first five overs.
With the momentum in BCP's favour, it seemed like the duo will bat through and take them over the finishing line. However, LIZ had other plans as Hasher Ullah made a double strike in the sixth over to pull them back into the contest. Shayan Khan then followed it up with a double whammy in the following over as BCP suddenly found them reeling at 4/55 with an uphill task at hand.
With the run-rate mounting and the pressure increasing, it was Managala Gunasekara who held onto his nerves and remained unbeaten to ensure to take BCP over the line in style with a maximum.
9.5 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, SIX RUNS! BLACK CAPS WIN! Full and in the slot on off-stump. Gunasekara slaps this over long-off from the front foot and the superb connection makes it sail over the rope! Black Caps are our first finalists and it is Managala Gunasekara who befittingly finishes things off.
9.5 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, full and too WIDE outside the line of off-stump yet again!
9.4 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, full on off-stump. Hammered down to deep mid-wicket off the front foot but they refuse taking the single!
9.3 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, FOUR RUNS! Full and slow on leg-stump. Whipped away to deep backward square-leg on the charge for a crucial boundary!
9.3 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, WIDE outside the line of off-stump this time! Time to reload this.
9.2 Babar Ayub to Sukhjinder Singh, short on leg-stump. A miss of the pull shot this stump but somehow, in some way, they manage to take a leg-bye!
9.1 Babar Ayub to Managala Gunasekara, full outside off-stump. Dragged around to deep square-leg off the back foot for a single.
Babar Ayub to bowl the final over
It's come down all the way to the wire! BCP started the chase strong but a late fightback from the LIZ bowlers have made things evens-stevens once again. Last six balls to decide the fate of the match. BCP need 13 more from 6 balls.
