That's it from this match, folks! Hope you enjoyed the coverage. It is the pair of Rudransh and Arya signing off for Sportskeeda!
The crowd of school kids and families go wild! They have deserved this, it's a really, really good win for the home team. They have played like proper superstars today.
End of the match! Brisbane Heat beat Hobart Hurricanes by 53 runs.
Absolutely clinical from Heat. You can tell that by how easy they made the pitch look while batting first and how difficult it seemed to bat on when the were bowling in the second innings. Put in to bat first, they put up a score that was at least 15 runs over par for the surface here.
Hurricanes started the chase well. They took on young Hamilton's second over and even if they weren't timing the balls well, they were putting enough power behind them to collect the boundaries. Knott proved to be the game changer, getting the first wicket of Lee and Kerr followed by sending the other opener, Smith in the next over itself.
Villani continued her poor run of form and Jonassen just took over the middle-overs bowling duties like a master. With tight lines and lengths, she extracted four wickets for less than run-a-ball in her four overs. Hurricanes only dealt in singles and a few boundaries, and could never string in doubles or any sixes to build momentum, which cost them dearly as the match went on.
17.3 Jess Jonassen to Hayley Silver-holmes, WICKET! Brisbane Heat wins it comfortably in the end. A clinical performance as they notch up their 7th win of the competition. A tossed up fuller-length delivery around the middle stump, Silver-holmes down on one knee goes for the slog sweep, ends up getting a top edge which has been safely clutched by the short fine leg fielder.
Hayley Silver-holmes c Mignon du Preez b Jess Jonassen 19 (19b, 2x4, 0x6)
17.2 Jess Jonassen to Hayley Silver-holmes, plays away the length delivery around middle towards the point region.
17.1 Jess Jonassen to Hayley Silver-holmes, FOUR! That was a tossed up delivery a shade outside off, driven exquisitely past the cover fielder and it races away to the fence.
It has been death by a thousand cuts for the Hurricanes. They are just refusing to bleed out completely. Heat also look in a bit of a hurry.
