Match summary:
Budapest Kings win by 3 wickets off the last ball of the match
Who expected a last ball finish with three overs left to the run-chase? Not many would have, for sure! The DV Ultimate XI bowlers, despite being indisciplined with their line and length, showed great courage and fight towards the end, nipping out one Kings batter after the other while keeping the equation under check, but Shakir Ullah ensured that the job was done for the Budapest Kings in the end.
Much like their opponents early on in the game, Budapest Kings got off to a flier of sorts, thanks to their opening duo of Sandy Sachin and Shiva Tadela. Tadela, having started off a little slowly, went on the charge once Sachin got out. His wicket post the halfway mark of the innings sparked a collapse, and DVUXI were able to smell blood from thereon.
The loose deliveries from their bowlers, and the occasional bloopers on the field, didn't help them one bit in their defense of the total. Two very good overs from Masuk Abdullah and Ali Nawaz at the end, though, made things extremely interesting, and we were actually poised for a golden ball with 2 required off the final delivery. Nawaz, though, missed his line and strayed towards leg stump, Shakir Ullah pounced on it and got his team past the finishing line.
