The target of 60 was never going to be a challenge the Budapest Kings but the Royal Falcons bowlers took the game deep and made the Kings work hard for their runs. Shiva Tadela and Tejendra Valivarthi started off well. Tadela in particular struck some impressive shots to get going but soon departed on 12 off just 6 deliveries.

Prakash Akula and Shakir Ullah departed early which gave some hope to the Falcons. However, Valivarthi was still out in the middle and got an able partner in Govarthan Palanisamy. Valivarthi didn't quite get the timing right all through the innings but ensured that he stayed there till the end.

Palanisamy struck a couple of boundaries, remaining unbeaten on 15 off 11 deliveries while Valivarthi remained unbeaten on 18 off 26 deliveries. Stanzin Namgail bowled a couple of superb overs and returned with a couple of scalps. Abhijith Jayakumar also bowled brilliantly, finishing with figures of 1/5 in his 2 overs.
