Dominance from start to finish and a thoroughly professional display of cricket across all three facets of the game from Belgium. With the bat and ball as well as on the field, they were head and shoulders above the Bulgarians who were just blown out of the water even before they could get their teeth into the contest. It was set up by a sensational blitz from Khurram Cheema, whose unbeaten 115-run partnership with Sherry Butt powered Belgium to a massive 169 on the board to which the Bulgarians just had no answer.

The chase never got going with the batters struggling for all sorts of rhythm and fluency. Zeerak Chughtai couldn't get his timing right while Omar Rasool just couldn't tee off as he failed to gauge the line right whenever it was thrown away from his reach. It was a sorry display of batting coupled with some outstanding execution on the part of the Belgian bowlers who were immaculate and didn't err with their plan of keeping it simple.

Zaid Soulat was the only batter who seemed to get some sort of flow going into his innings but even his stay was cut short rather quickly. So much so that the top three individual scores of the game all belonged to Belgium and that just sums up the game in essence. An ever-escalating asking rate meant that there was no way back for Bulgaria as they were restricted to a mere 67, falling short of the target by a massive margin.

This result gives Belgium their second win in three games and their chances of finishing in the top two take a massive boost on the back of this win. As for Bulgaria, it's a third defeat on the spin that they've been consigned to and to say that they need a miracle to break into the knockouts tomorrow would be an understatement.
