The outfield could be more sluggish than what we've seen due to the overnight rain. Same pitch as the last game - 63 meters and 72 meters square on either side, 74 meters straight. Lot of grass taken off the pitch which has been rolled in a lot more. There could still be a little bit of bounce and movement. There could be some movement in the air too. It should play better but if it doesn't, it has to be a combination between attacking and survival as a batter. You've got to take it on like Gareth Delany did the other day. Take the bowlers out of their comfort zone and force them to change their plans. Still an unknown quantity so bowl first if you win the toss. 120 could be a tough target.

Commentary

Thanks a lot for staying tuned to Sportskeeda throughout this historic game in the ongoing T20 World Cup wherein Canada beat Ireland by 12 runs and caused a massive upset. This is the duo of old comrades Sooryanarayanan Sesha and Mohul Bhowmick signing off and hoping for more such upsets coming our way. We have Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh early tomorrow, so there is plenty of action coming your way through the weekend as well. Thanks again, and goodnight!

Saad Bin Zafar (Canada captain): It was a very proud moment for me and for us. Ireland did very well but all credit to our boys. We knew that it was a good total to defend and I am extremely proud of my bowlers who delivered when we needed them the most. The wicket got a little slow today so it worked to our advantage. We did gamble a tad in the beginning but going in with two spinners helped us. It's one game at a time for us. We will come strong against Pakistan; we are here to play positive cricket. It's very important to have our supporters at the ground; hopefully, this helps the younger generation pick up the sport.

Paul Stirling (Ireland captain): It was a tough loss today. We did not do too well. I think it was certainly a gettable total but we did concede a bit more than we would have liked to. We will have to improve on our showing. When we go to Miami next, we have to be better. We don't look too far in the future. We take on the USA next and have to give our supporters something to cheer about.

Nicholas Kirton (Player of the Match, 49 off 35 balls): Obviously bouncing back from the first game was important so it was pretty good getting the win today. I tried to get a hint of the pace of the wicket. Honestly it wasn't bad. Just varying (bounce) a little bit from the middle of the wicket but it wasn't bad. The outfield's a bit slow and one side was big. So (it was about) building a partnership and taking it deep. Very good to get our first win of the World Cup. Hopefully we can continue from strength to strength. Definitely (looking forward to the next few games). Our next focus is Pakistan. A rest day tomorrow and hopefully we come well again. The spinners bowled really well. Bit of purchase in the wicket so they came through really well. The pacers banged it into the wicket and used the bounce which was up and down. Just taking it one day at a time (grins).

Canada started off on a brilliant note and ended up winning this game quite deservedly. They have pulled off one of the finest wins in their history and it is something that will make them immensely proud.

Skipper Saad Bin Zafar spoke at the toss about recreating what the USA did to Pakistan last night, and his teammates listened intently to him. Ireland struggled right from the beginning and they will be disappointed with the way their batters let them down.

Skipper Paul Stirling and his fellow opener Andy Balbirnie were expected to bat well and get their team off to a good start, but they could not do so. The Canadians created history as they won their first-ever game in a T20 World Cup.

Skipper Saad will be extremely proud of his wards and what they achieved under his leadership. It is truly a red-letter day for the Canadians and one can forgive them for celebrating hard after this result.

As for the Irish, this is a game that they will be keen on forgetting as soon as possible. The late-order partnership between George Dockrell and Mark Adair seemed to give them some hope but the Canadians made sure that it was fluffed out in the end.

Canada have created history here! They bag their first-ever win in the T20 World Cup and have now beaten a Test-playing side. Ireland will be aghast with their showing with the bat today!

What a historic moment for the team having given USA a run for their money in the last game before tasting success today. Back of a length slower one outside the off stump. Dockrell steps out and drags it in front of square on the leg-side for a single. But it won't matter - celebrations in the Canadian camp as they romp home by 12 runs. The Irish camp is left crestfallen with their campaign now hanging by a thread!
