So, that will be it from an exciting TNPL game from Dindigul! Over to the next one now as Trichy take on Lyca Kovai Kings. You can switch tabs and join our live commentary for the game right now! This is the pair of Pradeep and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindugul Dragons captain): I think our bowlers bowled exceptionally to defend this total! It wasn't the easiest of wickets to bowl on as the game progressed, so, we have to give it to out bowlers. In the first innings, getting the total was down to out batting line-up. We bat deep and that counted for us today.
Narayan Jagadeesan (Chepauk Super Gillies captain): It was a great game! We let ourselves down in the field I thought. Gave away a few too many runs towards the back end. Aparajith played really well though and kept us in the game all the time. We will try to get better in the next game.
Subodh Bhati is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: The way we started, we lost wickets in heap and we wanted to get to 160 but later on we got momentum but when I went in, I backed myself to go for it and helped team to that score. Plan to bowl it into the blockholes, kept it right and didn't think much, it came off.
Dindigul Dragons win by 1 run!
Adithya Ganesh 44 (30) | Varun Chakravarthy - 3/23 (4) Baba Aparajith 74 (40) | Rahil Shah - 3/38 (4)
What an innings this turned out to be! For quite a long time, it seemed as though Chepauk Super Gillies were not quite in the hunt, but they kept the intensity high and never gave up at any stage. Such was the case, that three runs were there to get off the last ball but unfortunately, they could not quite get the job done in the end.
Dindigul Dragons have Varun Chakravarthy and P Saravana Kumar to thank! They bowled 4 overs each and gave away only 23 and 25 runs, respectively. Between them, they picked up 5 wickets.
As for the Super Gillies, Baba Aparajith was the best batter on show but some important cameos from skipper Narayan Jagadeesan, Uthirasamy Sasidev, Ramalingam Rohit and TD Lokesh Raj almost sealed the deal!
The overall fielding from Dindigul Dragons and the captaincy from Ashwin were top class! Ashwin could not quite do a good job with the ball this time round. But some clever field placements and spot-on bowling changes helped his side to take this victory.
Varun Chakravarthy injured his left shoulder while putting in a dive. He walked off the field to receive some treatment. Hopefully, he will recover quickly and play for the Dragons soon enough.
Dindigul Dragons register their third straight win now and stay on top of the ladder. Chepauk Super Gillies are on 4 points with 2 wins and 2 losses.

19.6 P Saravana Kumar to Rahil Shah, RUN-OUT! Dragons hold on to their nerve. What a game this turned out to be in the end. Dragons remain unbeaten. Short on the fourth stump, Rahil looks to pull but top edged it down to third-man, fielder is stationed fine and he picks it up and fires the throw back to the keeper. Rahil not even attempting to come back for the second as Sasidev looks to go back desperately but spots Rahil not interested in coming back at all.
Rahil Shah run out (Sarath Kumar M/Baba Indrajith) 1 (1b, 0x4, 0x6)
The equation now: 3 runs to get off 1 more ball!
Rahil Shah, RHB, is at the crease.
19.5 P Saravana Kumar to Uthirasamy Sasidev, RUN-OUT! Raj might be a goner here as they look to steal a bye. Change of pace from Saravana, Sasidev skips down the track and swings across the line and misses. Raj takes off early but the keeper darts it into the stumps as Raj puts in the dive. Drama here in Dindigul as Raj makes his way back, replays confirms that he's well short!
TD Lokesh Raj run out (Baba Indrajith) 5 (2b, 1x4, 0x6)
Chepauk Super Gillies now require 3 runs off 2 balls.
