Well, then. It was a close encounter that saw Cocrico Cavaliers advance to the finals. They will face Soca Kings in the final to determine the champions of Trinidad T10 Blast, 2023. The Scorchers' batters gave it their all, but the target of 116 runs proved to be too much in the end. The Cavaliers bowlers held their nerve and helped the side march on to the finals. It was certainly an excellent match to start off the proceedings on the final day of the tournament.
Kamil Pooran started off in his usual fashion and hit a couple of lusty blows before finding the fielder at long-off. Tion Webster had a brief stay in the middle before which he fell victim to a brilliant piece of fielding by Mahabirsingh. After the loss of couple of early wickets, it was Dexter Sween who put the chase on the tracks. The big all-rounder hammered the ball to all corners of the ground, clearing the ropes with ease.
While all these were happening at one end, the experience Joshua Da Silva was struggling to hit the ball off the square. He struggled his way to 15 off 17 deliveries. He cleared the boundary once just before he got out, without which the scorecard would have read even worse. That innings had an immensely detrimental impact on the chase.
Joshua Ramdoo was the final hope for the Scorchers. He scored briskly and top-scored the innings. But once Ramdoo got out on the final ball of the penultimate over, the result became quite apparent.
Aamir Ali was the pick of the bowlers for the Cavaliers. He bowled with guile and mixed his pace up. The lengths were excellent, making the batters guessing. His twin blows of Kamil Pooran and Dexter Sween really put the side right on top. Shaaron Lewis bowled a testing spell at the start, hitting the deck hard. Avinash Mahabirsingh and Jean Barrie also contributed, picking up a couple of wickets each.

9.6 Jean Barrie to Philton Williams, SIX! But it's too little too late! Cavaliers have qualified for the finals! Short of a length delivery, Williams stays back and slaps it over the long-on fence!
9.5 Jean Barrie to Shakeel Johnson, OUT! Cleans him up! Cavaliers have the game in their pocket now. Low full toss outside off. Inside edge onto the boot and back onto the stumps
Shakeel Johnson b Jean Barrie 0 [1b, 0x4, 0x6]
9.4 Jean Barrie to Bryan Charles, length ball outside off. Off the cue end of the bat to mid-wicket. Just a single
9.3 Jean Barrie to Bryan Charles, low full toss outside off. Hacks it across to deep square leg. Fumble in the deep allows them the second

9.1 Jean Barrie to Kyle Roopchand, OUT! Another one bites the dust! Full and wide of the off-stump. Roopchand reaches out for it, only manages an outside edge to short thirdman
