Lancashire 183/6 in 19.2 overs Luke Wells 66(35) | Zak Chappell 2/33 Daryll Mitchell 31(19) | Zaman Khan 2/41
Right so, Lancashire have romped home with 4 wickets remaining and this has been a Lightning start to their campaign! They were always ahead of the game and got off to an outstanding start as they reached to 77 in the powerplay on the back of a brilliant opening onslaught from Luke Wells! The elegant left hander was at his imperious best and put on a show from one end.
By the time, he was gone the game was firmly in their control! The two overseas pros Mitchell and de Grandhomme played their part in the middle overs as they nullified any threat on offer from the Derby bowlers. They did have a slight hiccup towards the end with a few quick wickets going down but Rob Jones and Luke Wood held on to their nerves and finished it off.
The Derbyshire bowlers lost the game in the powerplay itself and they were always playing a catching up game post that! The pace of their seamers worked against them as the batters made good use of it! Zak Chappell and Zaman Khan picked up a couple of wickets each but they were quite expensive. They did fight back with a few wickets in the back end, but it was a little too late by that time.
19.2 Luis Reece to Luke Wood, FOUR! That will seal it for Lancashire. That was a low full toss a shade outside off, thumped away down the ground, back over the bowler's head and off to the fence.
19.1 Luis Reece to Rob Jones, a clean pick up and a throw and Jones would have been struggling. On a length around middle and leg, worked away towards the short midwicket fielder, he couldn't quite pick that up cleanly and the single has been taken. Just 1 more needed now.
Luis Reece [2.0-0-17-0] comes back into the attack.
Well then! We are heading into the final over and the batting side will still need a couple of more runs to win from here onwards!

18.6 George Scrimshaw to Rob Jones, driven firmly but put down by the extra cover fielder. That was a fuller one outside off, Jones stands tall and creams it towards the extra cover region, was aerial but the fieldder couldn't quite hold onto that, a single taken.
18.5 George Scrimshaw to Rob Jones, fuller-length delivery around middle and leg, almost in the blockhole, Jones inside edges this too his boots, squeezed away towards the off side and another dot ball.
18.4 George Scrimshaw to Rob Jones, a quick knee high full toss, Jones tries to whip it away from his presence, the shot was on but the execution wasn't.
18.3 George Scrimshaw to Rob Jones, yorker angling into Jones and he only manages to dig that out.
