Edex Knights win by 6 wickets with 4 balls to spare!
What could have been an incredible victory for Gzira United ended being a relieving win for Edex Knights and a face-saving one too!
Right towards the end of the innings, the pressure of the occasion and the problem of the fifth bowler got to Gzira United and they wilted under it! The thing that was under their control, was not giving away those 5 penalty runs. But they were not good enough on that front either! There were a bit too many extra runs given away too, under that pressure.
But otherwise, it was a really spirited effort with the ball and in the field from Gzira United to take the innings deep and actually, be ahead on quite a few occasions, giving the Knights a mighty scare.
But Niyas Muhammed held on to his nerve, used all his experience and guided his team home with an unbeaten knock with a strike rate of 247.05.
With this win, Edex Knights stay unbeaten in the tournament but this heartbreaking loss for Gzira United means they are yet to get on the board.

9.2 Navraj Yonjan to Niyas Muhammed, full and at the stumps and Niyas heaves it to mid wicket for a single and it's game over. Edex Knights win the match by 6 wickets.
Scores are level.
9.1 Navraj Yonjan to Vishnu Thulaseedharan, full and outside off stump and this one has been played to point.
Navraj Yonjan [1.0-0-19-0] comes back into the attack.
Five penalty runs have been awarded to the Edex Knights because of falling behind on the innings timer! That is massive in the context of the game and it may well have turned things the way of the batting side.
