So, that will be all from this match in Malta. Do not miss out on out coverage of the first semi-final of the ODI World Cup tomorrow when India take on New Zealand in Mumbai. For now, this is the pair of Pradeep and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Edex Knights win by 19 runs!
Samuel Stanislaus 62 (21) | Jais Mathew - 3/19 (2) Affy Khan 54 (21) | Ishantha Kariyawasam - 1/18 (2)
It looked a difficult run chase right from the start and it stayed that way in the end but the fight that Southern Crusaders showed deserves a compliment!
Affy Khan and Ryan Bastiansz gave them a tremendous start of 73 runs for the first wicket with some sparkling shots all around the ground. Unfortunately, Bastiansz could not quite control a pull shot against opposition skipper Jais Mathew and spooned a simple catch back to him.
Affy brought up his fifty but kept losing his partners at the other end. The pressure of that got to him and he got picked up a mid-wicket trying to play another big shot.
There was a late surge from Ishantha Kariyawasam and Mahabul Rahman but that was too little too late! However, losing by 19 runs is not a bad effort at all, having conceded so many in the first innings.
The bowling and fielding from Edex Knights was way better in comparison to that in the first innings and that definitely proved to be a significant difference.
So, the Knights continue to maintain their unbeaten run but a decent effort with the bat from the Crusaders has helped their net run rate stay strong.

9.6 Sujith Sukumaran to Mahabub Rahman, THAT IS THAT! FOUR! Edex Knights remain unbeaten in the tournament and stay firmly at the top of the table here. Southern Crusaders slump to a third defeat in a row, plenty to work on for them. Rahman slaps that one down to wide long-off. Fielder runs around and stops with his boots, comes back and darts the throw to the bowler's end who collects and whips the bails off.
Umpire wants to check this, oh dear, the fielder's foot was in contact with the ropes while he was parrying the ball back in play and that has been signaled a boundary in the end!
9.5 Sujith Sukumaran to Mahabub Rahman, yorker length, wide of off-stump. Rahman reaches and loses his balance, squirts it off the toe end of the bat to the keeper along the turf.
9.4 Sujith Sukumaran to Mahabub Rahman, back of a length outside the off-stump, Rahman gave himself some room to cut but gets beaten.
9.3 Sujith Sukumaran to Mahabub Rahman, FOUR! Length delivery, wide of off-stump. Rahman reaches and slices it over backward point, runs away for a boundary.
9.2 Sujith Sukumaran to Mahabub Rahman, back of a length, angles it across left-hander. Rahman swings and misses.
9.1 Sujith Sukumaran to Ishantha Kariyawasam, back of a length on the middle and leg. Ishantha looks to swipe but misses, thuds on the thigh and they pick up a leg-bye.
Sujith Sukumaran [1.0-0-19-0] comes back into the attack.
So, the last over is upon us! Well, the Crusaders have given it a really good go here. They need to be applauded for this effort no matter what happens in this over.
