That's it from us in terms of the coverage of the European Cricket Series for today. We have five more matches remaining until the semi finals. Join us tomorrow for our coverage of the same. This is Rajarshi, signing off. Good night!
The boundaries did come for them towards the latter stages, but the Fighters CC left far too many for their middle order. The fact that most of them lacked game sense and went down the route of blind slogging didn't help their case either. They were just not able to get going, and unlike the Fighters CC bowlers, the Gorkha 11 bowled with a lot more discipline, not conceding too many extras.
Fighters CC lost Dalwinder Singh off the first delivery of the chase itself. The big hitting Harjot Sahota struggled to time the ball right, and departed two overs later. The procession of batters continued as we headed into the middle overs, with none of them being able to make any impact. That was pretty much where they lost the game. Some fireworks from the lower order towards the end helped them in lessen the margin of the defeat, thereby avoiding too much damage to their net run rate.

9.6 Amandeep Ghumman to Lalit Kumar, full outside off, Lalit skewed the ball towards deep point. None of the fielders there were able to gather the ball cleanly, the batters decided to come back for a third and made it; Lalit took a theatrical tumble having grounded his bat as it got stuck! Quite an entertaining end to the match, and in the end, Gorkha 11 keep their semi-final hopes well and truly alive by taking this match by 41 runs!
9.5 Amandeep Ghumman to Lalit Kumar, SIX! Lalit's ploy of swinging at everything bears fruit at long last! This was full and in the slot, Lalit, as he has done all this while, swung at the ball hard, he got a lot of bat on this one, the ball flew high up over the bowler's head, and ended up just about clearing the ropes at long off!
9.4 Amandeep Ghumman to Mandeep Singh, full and straight, thumped towards the man at long on. The fielder had a shy and almost hit the stumps, the batters thought of an overthrow but Lalit was sent back, the throw almost ended up hitting him, and he was well out of his ground!
9.3 Amandeep Ghumman to Mandeep Singh, full and straight, Mandeep lofted the ball towards mid off, the man at long off ran in and dived full stretch forward but couldn't get to it. The batters took a brace
9.3 Amandeep Ghumman to Lalit Kumar, wide, down the leg side. The keeper couldn't gather the ball, and so, the batters crossed over
9.2 Amandeep Ghumman to Lalit Kumar, FOUR MORE! Banged in short once again, Lalit swung, edged it over the in field at third man, and the ball crept past the ropes!
9.1 Amandeep Ghumman to Lalit Kumar, FOUR! Banged in short outside off stump, Lalit had a swing (of course he did), the ball took the outer splice of the blade and flew towards deep point, beating the fielders to the ropes!
