Gorkha 11 won by 4 wickets (with a delivery to spare)
Oeiras 104/6 in 10 overs
Francoise Stoman 34(13) | Miguel Machado 23(15) Gurbhej Singh 2/17(2) | Absar Alam 1/10(1)
That was a close match between two evenly matched sides and in the end, it was the Gorkha 11 who returned triumphant with just a delivery to spare. They were given a run for their money by the Oeiras bowlers but eventually, it was a couple of lusty blows by Hardeep Sing which sealed the deal for Gorkha. There were vital contributions from Suman Ghimire and Faruk Ahmed at the top of the order as they won the game in the final over.
The target of 105 was by no means a straightforward one for them. They needed a good start and it was provided by the opening duo of Ghimire and Ahmed. They shared a 21-run opening stand but Gorkha lost 3 wickets for just a solitary run and Oeiras was back and running. It was goo bowling and catching from them as they managed to tilt the scales in their favour.
At 35/4, Gorkha 11 was staring down the barrel when Hardeep Singh came out all guns blazing and blasted his way to a quickfire 41 off just 17 deliveries which included a four and 5 sixes. He was supported well by Ghimire as the duo laid the foundation for an easy finish. However, a few quick wickets again tilted the tile in Oeiras' favor. In the end, Hardeep smashed a couple of sixes in the final over as Gorkha won with a delivery to spare.
9.5 Conrad Greenshields to Hardeep Singh, SIX! What a finish from Hardeep Singh. A length delivery on the leg stump, a no nonchalant no look whip of the wrist which comfortably clears the deep backward square leg fence.
9.4 Conrad Greenshields to Hardeep Singh, SIX! That was right in the slot and has been nailed from the center of the bat. A mighty swing across the line to a length delivery on middle and that has been deposited well over the deep midwicket fence.
9.3 Conrad Greenshields to Ahmaad Ullah, on a length around middle, worked away towards the on side for a quick single.
Ahamad Ullah, RHB, comes to the crease.
9.2 Conrad Greenshields to Gurbhej Singh, WICKET! Back to back wickets for Greenshields and the match has turned on it's head. On a fuller-length around the middle and leg stump channel, Gurbhej makes some room and ends up slicing it straight to the cover fielder stationed near the 30 yard circle.
Gurbhej Singh c Girish Singh b Conrad Greenshields 0(1b 0x4 0x6)
Gurbhej Singh, RHB, comes into the attack.
9.1 Conrad Greenshields to Suman Ghimire, WICKET! What a big moment in the game. Ghimire has to depart. No pace on that delivery, a loopy slower delivery on the middle stump, Ghimire tries to swing it across the line, the top edge carries all the way to the long-on fielder. He knew where thee ropes were and pouched that safely.
Suman Ghimire c Francoise Stoman b Conrad Greenshields 35(28b 6x4 0x6)
Conrad Greenshields, right arm medium, comes into the attack.
Stoman did go for a boundary early on in the over but he came back really well to restrict it down to just 8 runs! We're heading into the final over of the innings with all the three results possible.
