Karun Nair (Mysore Warriors captain): Very happy to have reached the semi-finals! The first box is ticked. The spinners bowled really well today, did what we asked them to. It was a slightly slower wicket so that helped them. Intensity is something that we always strive for and that is something we can control. We have depth in out batting, so, we wanted to make sure that we maintained a good run rate as well as not lose wickets up front. Looking forward to the semi-finals now for sure!
Ravikumar Samarth has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning unbeaten 62 off 50 deliveries!
It is time for the post-match presentation!
Mysore Warriors win by 8 wickets with 12 balls to spare!
Mysore Warriors made sure that the runs kept coming right from the beginning no matter what happened. S U Karthik was not at his best against some quality bowling today but even he kept the runs coming as long as he stayed out there.
After he went, Karun Nair joined Ravikumar Samarth to put together a really sensible partnership until the skipper threw it away when there was a slight drizzle on! But then came the match-winning partnership between Samarth and Lankesh to take the Mysore Warriors home rather comfortably in the end.
Samarth just held the innings together and brought up a superb half-century. Lankesh played some good attacking shots at the business end of the run chase to power his team over the finish line.
Apart from young left-arm spinner Hardik Raj, no other bowlers was among the wickets. For the first time in the tournament, Abhilash Shetty went wicketless and captain Vijaykumar Vyshak was way too expensive for his liking.
