That brings us to the end of this T20 Blast game. Till the next time, this is adieus from myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty). Goodnight!
Hampshire Vikings won by 10 wickets (with 31 deliveries to spare)
Hampshire 145/0 in 14.5 overs
James Vince 71*(38) | Ben McDermott 69*(51)
This couldn't have gotten easier than this for the Hampshire Vikings. What a convincing effort from the opening duo of James Vince and Ben McDermott and the score of 144 eventually proved to be way too short. Both batters batted brilliantly and after weathering the storm early on, it just got better and better. None of the bowlers could have an answer in front of some exceptional hitting by Vince and McDermott.
The first few overs weren't easy as it looked that it wouldn't be a straightforward ask for Hampshire. However, they played like defending champions as they didn't have look beyond their opening duo. After 3 quiet overs, it was McDermott who took the charge to play the big shots and Vince also joined him in the fun.
The carnage just kept getting better and better as the bowlers kept bowling loose and got pumped all over the ground. They displayed a wide range of shots and the boundaries kept flowing from their blade.
While Vince continued his rich vein of form, McDermott will be happy to get some runs under his belt and this could be ominous signs for other teams if they manage to get onto a roll. McDermott's knock of 69 came in just 51 deliveries which was studded with 6 fours and 3 sixes while Vince remained unbeaten on 71 off 39 deliveries which included 8 fours and 3 sixes.
14.5 Aristides Karvelas to James Vince, defending champions playing like defending champions today. Vince flicks away the fuller-length delivery on the pads towards the deep square leg region and completes a 10 wicket victory.
14.4 Aristides Karvelas to James Vince, mixx up right at the end, slower delivery on a length around middle, tapped away towards the mid-on region, desparing dive helps McDermott get back in the crease.
14.3 Aristides Karvelas to James Vince, fuller-length delivery angling into the right-hander, beautifully timed away past the mid-on region, as if he is the nets and gets back easily for a couple.
14.2 Aristides Karvelas to Ben McDermott, on a length around the leg stump channel, McDermott stays on the crease and works it away towards the midwicket region and gives the strike back to Vince.
14.1 Aristides Karvelas to James Vince, slower short of a length delivery around the middle stump channel, swiped away towards the deep backward square leg region for a single.
