Tim David (Player of the Match for his 62* off 28): I said to Nikki (Nikhil Chaudhary) that I thought I can't hit the ball but I got a bit lucky and then got on a bit of a roll. We knew it was going to be a good batting pitch specially seeing how it played in the first innings. It has been a while since I felt that good out in the middle. That was not supposed to go like that (on the deft four behind point) but since everyone liked it I liked it too. Clicking is the right word for us, we did not want to carry a lot of baggage from the last time. It is the business end of the tournament coming up now

The Adelaide Strikers opted to bat first, with Chris Lynn and D'Arcy Short providing a cautious start. Lynn survived a nasty blow to the helmet from a Riley Meredith bouncer, while Short fell to Billy Stanlake's first delivery.
