Georgia Wareham is the Player of the Match: I just wanted to play my game. I knew if I trapped into poking it around we could have been in more trouble. I think 150 felt like enough especially with the bowling line up we had. Milly started off brilliantly and everyone then chipped in. I think there is every different player stepping up in different games. Everyone knows their role which has been a deciding factor. That will be pretty special to host the final at MCG.

Similar to the first innings of the match, the chase saw a wicket fall before a run being scored as Milly Illingworth sent back Lizelle Lee caught behind for a duck. But unlike how the home side went about their strategy of giving 7 different bowlers a go in the opening 8 overs, Illingworth was rewarded for her success with another over in her opening spell. That is also when a minor indecision led to Carey getting run out, much to her frustration as we saw her throwing her gloves away as soon as she entered the dressing room.

Illingworth had a 3rd successive over and she only went for 5 runs from her first 18 balls. The drought of runs meant that when Molineux introduced herself in the 6th over, batters were forced to take risks and in that pursuit, Heather Graham became the first victim of the Renegades skipper in just her 2nd ball. Illingworth actually completed all her overs in a single spell - with 15 dot balls.

The scoring remained lower than what was required throughout the chase as the Hurricanes kept losing wickets regularly. It was a disciplined bowling and fielding performance by the Renegades and when Villani was knocked over by Dottin in what was an absolute peach of a yorker, the result almost became a foregone conclusion.

When 85 runs were needed from 42 balls, the Power Surge was taken with Tryon and Saville in the middle for the hosts. They could only muster 15 runs from the Surge, pushing them back in needing 70 runs from the last 5 overs with only 5 wickets in hand.

The run rate never really went beyond the region of 6 runs per over and Hurricanes' troubles kept worsening with Molineux picking up Tryon as the hosts lost their 6th wicket even before they could reach the team century. In the end, it was all a bit too much for the Hurricanes as they lose the match in a pretty comprehensive manner.
