With Sixers getting over the line, they find themselves at the top of the moment and have built nice momentum as well. With Healy and Gardner not performing today, it still shows Sixers have a solid middle order to steer them through. That's that from this game, do catch the second of the double header which starts in 30 mins or so as Perth Scorchers are going head to head against Brisbane Heat. Thank you so much for tuning in, this has been me, Pradeep Somashekar and I take your leave, good bye, take care!
Sydney Sixers won the game by 5 wickets with 3 balls left!
Well, in the Sixers had the last laugh, though Hurricanes made a match out of this one. Vlaeminck strikes early to send the dangerous Alyssa Healy packing meant they were in the game, soon after Strano sends Gardner as well to peg things back.
Shafali Verma and Ellyse Perry got together to stitch a 50 run stand to steady the innings back on track. Perry especially kept finding those odd boundaries and kept themselves in the hunt throughout.
But it was Strano again gets the breakthrough for her team and she sends Shafali later on to create some sort of a tension in the Sixers dug out but Nicole Bolton and Maitlan Brown held their nerve in the end to take their team through.
Sydney Sixers have started off their campaign really well, two wins in a row. Hobart Hurricanes have a different story, two back to back losses and they need to pick themselves up from this and come up with much improved batting performance in the next game.
20.0
19.3 Nicola Carey to Maitlan Brown, FOUR! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Length delivery on the outside off as Brown on the backfoot cuts it past the backward point region and finishes the game in style. Back to back wins for the Sixers and they are on a roll here.
19.3 Nicola Carey to Maitlan Brown, WIDE! OH DEAR! Length delivery but Carey sprays it down the leg-side as she'll have to reload that. Scores are level!
19.2 Nicola Carey to Maitlan Brown, short delivery on the outside off as Brown on the backfoot looks to cut that one hard and missed. 2 off 4 now!
Maitlan Brown is the new batter in, right-hand bat!
19.1 Nicola Carey to Angela Reakes, OUT! TIMBER! Is there a twist in the tale? Reakes wanted to finish things off as she goes to swipe that back of a length delivery but misses horribly and goes through to crash into the stumps.
With only formality remains as Sixers need just 2 of the final over!
