Thanks very much for joining us- Rajarshi Das and Mohul Bhowmick- for this rather lopsided contest in the ECC. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Until next time, ciao!
Hungary beat Finland by 85 runs!
Leus du Plooy 93 (27) and 3-5 Vinoth Ravindran 46 (20) | Abbas Ghani 2-2
As was expected, Hungary beat Finland by a massive margin here. The batters of Finland just did not put up a fight, and this is what will disappoint them a lot.
Their batsmen could very well have stood firm and fought back, but they chose not to do so. This win will give Hungary a lot of confidence as well as boost their net run rate by a lot.
Finland, on the other hand, need to take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror in order to figure out where it was that they went wrong.
Hungary were the better side today by a huge margin, and they showed it in all three departments: batting, bowling and fielding. The two du Plooys were brilliant, both with bat and ball!
9.2 Shaikh Rasik to Raaz Mohammad, OUT! It's all over! On a good length just outside off, Raaz, having moved across his stumps, tried to paddle it away. He was rushed for pace, struck high up on the pads, Hungary appealed, the umpire took a while, but raised his finger eventually! Hungary take the honours by a massive margin - 85 runs!
Raaz Mohammad lbw b Sheikh Rasik 1 (4b 0x4 0x6)
9.1 Shaikh Rasik to Raaz Mohammad, byes, FOUR! Slower ball, pitched up outside off, Raaz was far too early with his swing across the line. The keeper failed to gather on the bounce, the ball ricocheted off his pads, rolled towards fine leg, and beat the chasing fielder to the ropes
Sheikh Rasik, right arm medium, will bowl the final over.
Hungary are just one wicket away from a spectacular victory. If they manage to bag this wicket, their net run rate will get a big boost!
