Commentary

That brings us to the end of our coverage from the first IML semi final. India Masters have booked their place in the final and will await tomorrow's result to find out whom they will face in the final. They were clinical in all aspects of the game today and will take the momentum to the final. Do join us tomorrow for the second sdmi final between the West Indies Masters and the Sri Lanka Masters but for now this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) biding adieu on the behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Bidipto Datta. Sachin Tendulkar (India Masters captain): Yeah we played well. I thought to bat first and put a decent total on the board was good. We started really well, eventually when it mattered the most and got the breakthroughs it became difficult for them. Nadeem bowled some fantastic overs and those four wickets were crucial for them. I don't want to go into details about the conversation with the team. I just told them to pick wickets at crucial stages. I felt good, body reminds me that I will be 52 soon. I mean we all know how good Australians are. We got those wickets at crucial moments and those breakthroughs won us the game. Both Sri Lanka and West Indies have match winners. Today I will like to mention Yuvi's innings. The bat swing and timing was exceptional. Raipur has been a good experience. Hope they continue to shower love and affection.

Shahbaz Nadeem (Player of the Match, 4/15 in 4 overs): It's always a special performance when it happens against Australia in a semi-final! There was no dew today, and so, against spin, it wasn't going to be easy for them with more than 200 on the board. Sachin paaji said that it's better that we bat first in such a big game, and luckily, even after losing the toss, we got what we wanted! There wasn't a lot of turn, but I kept it stump to stump and got the job done!

Shane Watson (Australia Masters captain): India were way too good! Yuvraj Singh rolled back the years, Sachin Tendulkar played really well and we were not clinical enough with the ball. With the bat, we should have done way way better. But, this has been a superb experience! The cricket on display has been top class, and the final is expected to be no different. I do hope to be back next season!

What an emphatic victory for the India Masters as they registered a massive 94 run victory in the first semi final of the International Master's League against the Australia Masters to become the first team to qualify for the final slated to be played on Sunday. Given how the Australia Masters batted in their five games prior to the semi final, it seemed that even a score of 220 might not be enough.

However the India Masters had other ideas and ensured they won the match by a massive margin in the end. The wicket of Shane Watson in the second over put Australia on the backfoot and they could never really recover from that. Shaun Marsh and Ben Dunk pressed on the accelerator in the powerplay and it looked the Australian Masters would make a match out of it.

However the wicket of Shaun Marsh totally shifted the momentum towards the India Masters as wickets kept tumbling one after the other. Ben Dunk was dismissed by Shahbaz Nadeem in the very next over and Stuart Binny then bamboozled Dan Christian with a delivery that stopped on the surface. Nathan Reardon started off with some lusty blows and looked like repeating what he did yesterday.

His departure was the final nail in the coffin. Nathan Coulter-Nile was dismissed off the very first delivery. Ben Cutting delayed the inevitable for a while and was the top scorer with a knock of 39. Eventually it was Irfan Pathan who finished the game off with the wicket of Bryce McGain off the first delivery of the 19th over. They will now wait for the result of tomorrow's game between the Sri Lanka Masters and the West Indies Masters which will decide the second finalists of the tournament.

11:05 PM local and IST: There is a clear spike when the ball is next to the bat and that should be the end of the match. India Masters win by 94 runs and are through to the final. This has been a thoroughly clinical performance from the oldies and they become the first team to qualify for the final. India Masters have turned the tables on the Australia Masters from the result which we saw in the group stage.

18.1 Irfan Pathan to Bryce McGain, CAUGHT BEHIND? INDIA MASTERS REVIEW THIS. Good length and on off-stump. McGain makes some room and tries to cut it. He seemingly nicks it through to the keeper but the umpire remains unmoved. Fair delivery, and it's a healthy outside edge through to Rayudu! On-field decision gets overturned and India Masters move on to the Final!
